Designing your own ring is easier than you think: shape, carat, gold colour and quality. We explain how to design your solitaire in four steps and what happens next.

Short answer: You can design your own solitaire in four steps: choose the stone’s shape, choose its carat, choose the gold colour and decide on the stone’s quality level. In our ring designer, every choice shows how the ring will look on the same hand at true scale. You send us your design on WhatsApp with a single tap; we send you suitable real stones with their certificate details, and after your approval we make your ring in our workshop.
Step 1: The stone’s shape
The shape sets the character of the ring. The designer has eight shapes: round, oval, pear, emerald, cushion, princess, radiant and marquise. Each shape has a short description beside it; for example, oval makes the finger look long, and emerald gives a calm light. To think about which shape will suit you: diamond shapes · choosing by finger type.
Step 2: Carat
You can choose between 0.50, 1, 1.50, 2 and 3 carats. For each carat, the stone’s approximate size in millimetres is shown too. In the photos, the stone is placed in true proportion by millimetre calculation on a finger 17 mm wide. For carats in between (such as 0.70 or 1.20), just write it in your message. How many carats should a solitaire be?
Step 3: Gold colour
White, yellow or rose gold. You see at once how the same stone changes in different gold colours: white gold makes the stone look whiter, while yellow and rose gold create a warm contrast. Choosing a gold colour.
Step 4: The stone’s quality
You choose from three levels:
- Top tier: D–E colour, VVS clarity; the highest whiteness.
- Recommended: F–G colour, VS clarity; the most balanced choice, with no difference visible to the eye.
- Balanced: G–H colour, VS2–SI1 clarity; a budget-friendly choice that looks clean and white when worn.
We explain what these levels mean in our 4C guide.
What happens next?
- Send it: when you tap the “Ask for this ring’s price on WhatsApp” button, your choices and a link to your design open as a ready-made message.
- We choose the stone: we send you real stones that match your choice, side by side, with their certificate details and current prices.
- You approve: we decide on the stone, the size and the details together. If you want a different mounting (halo, pavé band, six prongs and so on), just add it to your message. Solitaire settings.
- We make it: your ring is made for you in our workshop, with the stone and size you chose.
Why do we not show prices? The price of a lab-grown diamond depends on the stone itself; even within the same carat and quality range, cut proportions and current conditions change the price. So instead of a single figure on the website, we send you the current price of real stones that match your criteria.
A ready-made design, or my own?
If you do not want to design your own, you can see hundreds of designs made in our workshop in the model gallery; just send us the number of the design you like. You can also combine the two: choose a design from the gallery and decide its stone yourself, as in the designer.
If you are ready, start here: design your ring.
